How To Install The Grab Bars?
The first thing is to locate the studs. Use a drill to make the first hole where you think the stud is. If you cannot hit wood you can put a wire through the hole you have drilled on the tile and probe till you find the wood. Make a new hole where the stud. Mark the holes with the grab bar mounting plate and drill the holes. The hole you made by mistake will be most probably hidden by the mounting plate.
You must use different drill bits for the tile and the wood. If you don’t do that you could end up ruining your bits. Once the holes are done you can insert plastic wall anchors into the holes. These will provide the necessary hold for the screws. These wall anchors can simply be hammered into the holes. Once they are fixed properly screw in the bar.
Once you have fixed the handicap grab bars it is best to apply a bead of silicone around the mounting plate. This will prevent water from seeping through the gap into the holes.
